ABOUT THE ARTIST
One might say that the cornerstone of an artist is the nature of his/her individuality. Being raised in the congested state of INSANITY... err... New Jersey, Elyse Marino, born June 30th, was surrounded by artists, rule-breakers and intensely creative minds. She realized from a very young age that she loved to create things. While in grammar school, she began sketching dresses and showcased her own unique personal style throughout the rest of her primary education.
With a strong inclination towards music & the arts, Elyse excelled in everything creative throughout her schooling. In 1998, while studying Music Theory & Fine Arts at the esteemed Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers Universirty, she began sewing dresses by hand. Eventually, elyse's 19th birthday rolled around and due to her mother's generosity, a designer was born with the aide of a new basic Singer Sewing Machine. In the first several months of designing, she gifted many friends & relatives with all sorts of handmade items. Subsequently, she took her skill on the road, vending at countless festivals, concerts & street fairs.
Elyse moved to beautiful California in 2001. She continued her art by creating original handbags of all shapes & sizes. Selling at stores and fairs in the area, she enjoyed successes. However, it wasn't until 2006 that Elyse started selling items online. Just two years later, elyse began dedicating all of her time to her bugeoning online business. In addition to internet sales, her oRiGiNaLs designs are featured in 16 boutiques throughout the USA and her SIGNATURES line, launched in 2011, is rapidly growing in popularity. Upgrading her equipment, Elyse now employs a Pfaff Expressions Sewing Machine & a Baby Lock Imagine four-thread serger.
She takes great pride in her work & infuses her soul into every creation.
